Inspired by his 2025 Smoke Sessions release The Big Room, Joe Farnsworth brings his “Big Room” Quartet to the Century Room, offering audiences a deep dive into jazz as a spiritual space of boundless creativity. Twice GRAMMY®-nominated and celebrated as one of the foremost drummers of his generation, Farnsworth combines drive, subtlety, and swing to create music that is both grounded and transcendent.

He is joined by three acclaimed voices of a rising generation: saxophonist Sarah Hanahan, praised for her fiery tone and fearless improvisation; pianist Luther Allison, whose inventive harmonies extend the tradition with modern urgency; and bassist Yasushi Nakamura, known for his lyrical touch and powerful groove. Together, the ensemble crafts a sound that honors the masters while charting new artistic territory.
