About Tucson Jazz Festival
Every January, Tucson comes alive with jazz. What began more than a decade ago with just eight concerts has grown into a destination festival featuring more than 40 ticketed performances alongside dozens of free events, educational programs, and community experiences.
Our mission is to influence the discovery and celebration of live jazz performance and music education through community engagement anchored by a world-class jazz festival in greater Tucson. As the Festival has grown, we have remained committed to evolving with our community, welcoming new ideas, creating new opportunities for connection, and making outstanding live jazz accessible to audiences throughout the region.
Education is at the heart of our work. We believe experiencing music can spark curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong connection to the arts. Through workshops, performances, field trips, and other unique learning opportunities, we connect students with jazz and the artists who bring it to life. Our education programs continue to grow, reaching more young people and creating meaningful opportunities for students to experience, explore, and participate in music.
For us, jazz is more than what happens on stage. It is a way to bring people together, encourage discovery, support young people, celebrate creativity, and strengthen the cultural life of our community. By connecting world-class artists with the people and places that make Tucson unique, we are building a festival that belongs to our community while inviting audiences from around the world to discover it.
